A person who has made a major contribution to the creation of a document is called an author. Anyone named as an author of a piece that appears in UbJournalis expected to have made a significant and discernible contribution to the work's conception, execution, analysis, and reporting.
According to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), authorship should be determined by the following four factors:
Each author must certify in writing before their work is published that they meet the requirements for authorship. A group name must include the name of at least one individual.
Only one corresponding author is allowed per submission, according to UbJournal. This individual will be the exclusive point of contact for all communications with the Journal and will be the recipient of all correspondence about the publishing process.
Anytime changes to the authorship of a manuscript or a published article are required, they will be made in accordance with COPE specifications. Requests for authorship changes may only be made by relevant authors. Use the Changes in Authorship Form to submit a request to the editor.
Before submitting, authors should see the "Author Guidelines" on the journal's website. Manuscripts should be written in accordance with the journal's style guidelines and formatting requirements. The authors named on the paper should have complied with the criteria outlined above for authorship. Prior to submission, the final draft of the paper has to be approved by all authors. It is thus presumed that once a document is submitted, all authors have read it and given their consent to its submission. All authors' contact information, including affiliation, email addresses, and phone numbers, should be included on the paper.
In the manuscript, a declaration of conflicts of interest should be made.
Conflict of interest arises when a person's obligations to scientific and publishing activities and their private interests (competing interests) diverge to the point where a reasonable observer might question whether the person's actions or decisions were influenced by considerations of their competing interests.
All financial or pertinent interests that could have impacted the production of the paper should be disclosed by the authors.
Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest and, if required, reject to examine any manuscripts that they believe to be in conflict. Additionally, editors must to reject any material that could include a conflict of interest. These papers will be sent to different editors.
The authors should certify when submitting a paper that no comparable work is or will be being considered for publication elsewhere.
UbJournal will keep all submitted manuscripts confidential. Additionally, unless express permission has been granted to disclose material, authors should consider all interactions with the Journal as secret, including communications with its editors-in-chief, handling editors, and reviewers.
Prior to publishing, all approved papers will undergo a plagiarism check. We use plagiarism-detection tools like iThenticate and Similarity Check, a CrossRef service that uses iThenticate as its power source. A second screening is done to check for plagiarism once a work is approved for publication.
We look into every incident of alleged scientific misconduct found in our articles (including, but not limited to, plagiarism, inappropriate data processing, and duplicate publication). The results of our study will determine whether we withdraw the publication or issue an erratum or corrigendum. Articles will be retracted when appropriate in accordance with COPE's retraction rules.
